Well, attempted hike anyway... Julie & I tried to hike in Tehachapi again on Veterans Day, but the Sunday before a storm blew through and dumped some snow. If it was just snow, it wouldn't have been that bad, but apparently it had gotten really cold and the snow was just about frozen solid. It was too slippery, so we didn't get too far on our hike. Oh well - maybe next time... It was still fun to see and play in the snow since we don't get to see it too often around here :)!
The trail was so slippery that we worried we'd slip and fall and slide down the side of the hill. We had to stomp our feet to try to get some sort of traction. Sliding down the hill and hitting a tree or something wasn't an exciting prospect - so we turned around and just went back to town for breakfast at The Apple Shed instead. So much for the exercise :)!
Julie tried to make a snow angel, but the only part that worked was where her heals dug in. The snow was even too frozen to make snowballs - if you'd manage to scrape up enough snow, which was really hard to do, it wouldn't stick together and just fall apart.

From living here in Utah, I can tell you that if the snow is way too cold, NO SNOWBALLS. The obnoxious kids around here will try to form a snowball, then dip it in the gutter, if there is any water in it... And they make nasty dirty ice balls. People get hurt by those suckers
Ya, we started to pick up big hunks of snow (which was really a big hunk of ice) but thought better about throwing it at each other :) haha! Not too smart. Dipping it in the muddy gutter sounds so gross - I think I'd be a little pissed if someone threw one of those at me!
